"Accomplished and bold... prepared to take a risk and, more importantly, follow it through till he finds out what is on the other side."
- Lee Simpson, Artistic Director of Improbable
Different Owners At Sunrise was a work-in-progress performance of this piece of new writing by Laurie Ogden at The Roundhouse in Camden.
The play is about "girlhood, birds and where young women can find safety". It featured four sections of poetry, which were really the same poem broken up into four pieces.
I aimed for a sense of uniformity and continuation between the four sections, whilst trying to honour the journey that the poem took us on.
Things I wanted to capture were a sense of air and grounding, the comfort and safety of being in a womb/egg, fracture and treading a line between organic and electronic sounds.
